As part of developing our magazine, we carried out our first interview with a local band, Strand, during one of their rehearsal sessions. This gave us a chance to capture not only their thoughts and creative process, but also the energy of their live working environment.
The rehearsal took place in a relaxed studio setting, where the band were actively working through their set. Recording the session allowed us to document their sound in a more natural and authentic way, rather than a staged performance. Between takes, we spoke with the band about their influences, how they collaborate, and what inspires their music.
One of the most interesting aspects of the interview was seeing how ideas developed in real time. The band experimented with different sounds and arrangements, showing how fluid and collaborative their process is. This gave us valuable insight into the reality of working musicians.
Overall, this experience was an important starting point for our project. It helped us understand how to conduct interviews, capture content, and engage with artists in a professional but creative way. The footage and audio we gathered will play a key role in shaping the final outcome of our magazine.
